Stonewall/ Gay Rights Legacy?
[edit]Garland's death played an important role in the Stonewall Riots/ Gay Liberation since she was a Queer Icon--this deserves to be mentioned! 70.39.20.64 (talk) 16:27, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
- The historicity of that narrative is questionable. See Olivia B. Waxman (June 23, 2019). "Some People Think Stonewall Was Triggered by Judy Garland's Funeral. Here's Why Many Experts Disagree". Time. Best.4meter4 (talk) 17:29, 24 June 2023 (UTC)

Infobox Image
[edit]Can we change the image in the infobox to this color image. Since it is in color and still pretty high quality for a photo in 1945, it is objectively the best. What should we put though? Wcamp9 (talk) 21:51, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

Discussion on the Classification of Judy Garland’s Albums
[edit]Hi everyone, I’d like to start a discussion on the classification of Judy Garland’s albums in the article. There seems to be some inconsistency in how her albums—especially early releases—are categorized as studio albums, soundtracks, live albums, or compilations. Some sources, like The Judy Room (run by Scott Brogan, a well-regarded Garland researcher), classify certain albums differently from how they are currently listed on Wikipedia. For example: Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) and Girl Crazy (1943) have been called studio albums in some sources because they contain separate studio recordings rather than direct film soundtrack recordings. Some MGM soundtrack albums contain a mix of film recordings and separately recorded studio versions of songs, making classification tricky. The numbering of her studio albums is also inconsistent—some lists include soundtrack albums, while others don’t. I propose we establish clearer criteria for how we categorize her albums on Wikipedia and ensure all classifications are properly sourced. Should we base our classifications strictly on what major music databases (e.g., AllMusic, Discogs, or label information) state, or should we incorporate other expert sources like The Judy Room? Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this before making any changes. Thanks! Jorge906 (talk) 16:34, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
